For anyone starting the game I would highly recommend Optinoob’s collectible guide which can be found on PSN profiles. Some of the rooms in the third area of Biome 2 (Crimson Wastes) are extremely rare so that will likely be the last trophy that players need for the platinum. There is no guarantee that the room you are looking for will spawn on a particular run thus depending on how the R&G gods are feeling it can take many runs to find a specific cipher. Each time you run a Biome there will be a different layout of rooms. I picked up nearly all of them naturally but the ciphers were a real pain.Ĭertain ciphers only spawn in specific rooms. The only part I didn’t enjoy was the collectible grind. I liked the fast paced nature of the game. The combat and the traversal were superb. It took me 8 attempts to defeat him whereas it only took me between 1 and 3 tries to beat the other bosses. I found the first boss (Phrike) to be the hardest but I suppose at that stage I was still learning the ropes. I agree with Easty that this weapon shouldn’t be traded for anything else if you want an easier time. At the start of Biome 4 you find the Electropylon Driver gun which is a phenomenal weapon. ![]() I died several times in Biome 1 but in the second half of the game I made it all the way through Biome 4 first time without any deaths. If you stick with it then you should improve. Once you start to learn the bullet patterns and find better weapons then things get a lot easier. The game is most difficult at the beginning when you don’t have the best of weapons and you are still trying to get up to speed with the mechanics. Fast reactions are a must with a lot of jumping and dashing required. It’s advisable to use the cloud save function outside a boss room or when hunting the remaining ciphers.Īlthough you can save now the game is still challenging and the rogue elements will likely be a turn off for casual players. However, the devs sensibly added the suspend cycle feature which allowed players to save mid run rather than having to do everything in one sitting. At least 15 - 18 of those hours involved grinding the remaining ciphers.Īt launch this game would easily have been an 8 or 9 on the difficulty scale. I earned the platinum today and I would rate the difficulty as 6/10. I finished the story in like 20-25 hours, and then after 40 hours or so I was only missing a couple collectibles but they took a while to spawn, and I got the plat after 63 hours. So yeah basically if you stick with it, even if it's hard at first, it get really easier the more you play.Īs for the time I voted 51-75 hours, it really depends on RNG to find all collectibles. ![]() And then if you get really lucky you can have some good parasites/relics that will help greatly, but I didn't even need those with my electropylon gun. ![]() It turns the difficulty from 8/10 to 5/10. This weapon is the best and should not be traded against anything else. But the more you play, the more good stuff you unlock, and these good stuff will randomly spawn in your next runs which will make everything easier.Īnd then after a while you'll unlock the Electropylon Driver and your life will change. During the first runs you're basically naked against very powerful enemies, and the first few bosses are really tough.
